Comments by eminent academicians
Dr. N Multhumohan, Head of Guru Nanakdevji Studies, Madurai Kamraj University, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India:

The author of the book, Thus Sayeth Gurbani (S. P. S. Bindra, settled at Canada}, deserves our congratulations for such a useful addendum of classified quotations on subjects and topics alphabetically arranged from Sikh scripture in English.... The subjects are many, varied and of interest to all. The quotations are not of approbation, but in plenty, and so meet the needs of the readers and researchers very adequately.... The author has been a keen student of the Sikh Scriptures while young and even now as evident from an article in Sikh Review of July 1996.... It is unfortunate that majority of the non-Sikhs of our country is deliberately hurting the feelings of the Sikhs - a sad omen for the country. It is high time we shake off the mischievous policy of divide and rule, and learn to live like brothers. I am sure such books will pave the way for a better and prosper India of tomorrow as the Sikhs always pray for the welfare of all - each and every one.

Ajit Singh, Director, Gurbani Study and Research Center, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Model Town Extension, Ludhiana, Punjab, India:

The study of Gurbani, besides Sikhs, is now being undertaken by scholars and academicians of other faiths, also in different parts of the world. The generations of Sikhs, now growing up in Canada, Unites States, Great Britain and many other countries, attuned to study under typical systems and away from Punjab and Punjabi, must be provided with translated Gurbani in particular and conceptual quotations and philosophical references under certain headings in general Thus Sayeth Gurbani, containing conceptual quotations and references from the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh Scripture), duly translated into English (by Dr. Manmohan Singh) has been compiled by Pritpal Singh (Bindra) of Canada for the above-mentioned purpose. Bindra is an academician and educationalist and has got a good command over the language.... The author has rendered as excellent, noble and commendable service, through the light of Gurbani, by completing this book for the spiritual as well as ethical upliftment of the Sikhs, non-Sikhs and neo-Sikhs of foreign races residing in Canada, Western hemisphere and elsewhere.... he has succeeded in achieving his objective by the dint of hard work, educational and literary zenith, intelligence and above all Satguru's Grace.. I am confident that, as called for by the present situation, this book will meet the requirement to a great extent
